Innovation in the field of Engineering

Image
Engineering innovation refers to any product, process, service, or infrastructure in the public or private sector.  Integrating engineering innovation may: ●  Lead to new products, processes, infrastructure, or services. ●  Lead to design that promotes human well-being, including gender equality. ●  Identify new markets and business opportunities. ●  Develop technologies that meet the needs of a complex and diverse user group. ●  Enhance global competitiveness and sustainability. The top five innovations in the field of Engineering are as follows:  1. VMware Telco Cloud - Open Grid:  You can think of the Open Grid as similar, in some ways, to the power grid. In the power grid, energy is generated and transferred from many sources (wind, solar, traditional power plants, etc.). When you need electricity to turn on your light, you flip the switch, and the electric grid provides what you need. Meanwhile, the rest of the pooled energy – collected from ...

Agile vs Waterfall - which methodology is better?

Image
At the beginning of any software project, teams and organizations have to first deal with the question of agile  vs. waterfall. Software projects follow a methodology of clearly defined processes or software development life cycle (SDLC) to ensure the end product is of high quality. An SDLC identifies phases and the structured flow from one phase to another phase. Typically, there are six to seven phases. Agile and waterfall are two popular, but very different, SDLC models.   WATERFALL METHODOLOGY:  Waterfall  methodology is a traditional model for developing engineering systems and is originally based on manufacturing and construction industry projects. When applied to software development, specialized tasks completed in one phase need to be reviewed and verified before moving to the next phase. It is a linear and sequential approach, where phases flow downward (waterfalls) to the next. AGILE METHODOLOGY: Agile methodology is a type of incremental model of software ...

Customer Service Experience at Degani Bakery and Cafe

Image
DEGANI CAFE Degani Bakery and Cafe is an Australian owned franchise that is popular for its all-day breakfast and quality roast coffee. On one of my visits to Degani for their coffee, I observed their customer service skills and promotional ideas.  Awareness about the product The staff at Degani Cafe are confident and proud about the quality of their coffees. Inorder to sell more, the staff has identified the target audience (senior citizens). Along with the coffee, they prefer a sweet/savoury item. The staff has made up deals wherein the customer can get more with less price Example - Buy one coffee and one muffin/scone for AUD 6. Although there are two more cafes in the vicinity of Degani, people prefer to come to Degani to try their products. This cafe maximises the use of its name brand. Additionally, the cafe has put up breakfast menu along with the images, which helps attract the customers.  Customer Loyalty Since the cafe is located in a shopping centre, the cafe...
